I spent 6 years in the Army directly out of High School – 3 years as a combat medic and 3 as a recruiter. I knew once I got out all I wanted to do was pursue something I enjoyed. I found the Exercise Science department at Georgia Southern University and used my GI Bill to get a B.S. IN Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. We invested a few dollars into some basic equipment and began training a few people at Rockhill park early in the summer of 2010. We slowly grew and moved into a small dance studio on the NE side of town. After we outgrew that space we moved to a more central location at the Collins Center on Collins Drive.I’ve been lucky to pursue a career that I thoroughly enjoy and have been able to surround myself with great people along the way.My wife and I have two kids, and I do my best to spend as much time as I can with them.
I was born in Miami, FL and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. After High School I went to Southern University on a Track and Field and Basketball Scholarship. Before Graduating I joined the US Army as a Surgical Technician in 2005. I did that for 6 years before transferring into the Air National Guard where I currently serve. My first CrossFit workout was in 2008 in Statesboro, GA. I was about 6 months pregnant with our first child and loved it. I haven’t looked back since. My family and I relocated to Ft Wayne in 2010 and very quickly opened Guerrilla Nation. I can’t imagine not having this business and the people we have met in my life. I feel honored to be able to do what I love daily and have fun while doing it.We had our second child in Jan of 2014. It’s exciting to have an environment of hard work, dedication, community, and passion for my kids to grow up around. I love to dance and sing; fair warning, my singing is an acquired taste ;-).
Hey there folks. My name is Zach Springer and I have been doing CrossFit for 4 years. I received my CrossFit Trainer Level 1 Certification in 2011 and have been coaching at Guerrilla Nation since then. I later received my USAW Sports Performance Coach Certification in 2013 after wanting to become more knowledgeable with the Olympic lifts. I graduated college with an Occupational Therapy Assistant degree in 2006 and have been practicing OT now for 8 years. I work at a long term care facility helping patients regain their strength, endurance, and functional independence in order to improve their quality of life and help them live as independently as possible. I feel Guerrilla Nation does the same by helping people achieve their personal goals in regards to fitness while at the same time creating a great community of like-minded individuals.
My name is Mark Voss, I am 35 years old, happily married to my wife Megan since 2005. I live in the metropolis of Wolcottville Indiana on the lovely Lake Westler. I am a CF-L2 Trainer passing the testing in January of 2014. For my day job, I am the Senior Construction Inspection Supervisor for A&Z Engineering (2005 to Present) and with GAI Consultants from 2001-2005. I grew up playing sports such as Football, Soccer, Baseball and Golf through high school. Maintained a vague fitness resume from 2001-2012 dabbling in various forms of fitness including weightlifting, powerlifting and highland gamesI also maintained an average ability in golf, softball, and greatness. I was introduced to CrossFit in spring of 2012 at Guerrilla Nation and was hooked in about 6 visits, resigned a contract upgrading unlimited and have continued to go an average of 4 days per week since, primarily to the 6AM class. I enjoy watching the successes that comes with this sport. The competition at all levels is exciting and keeps me wanting to learn more and share what I have learned.
My name is Courtney Mangan; I am a mother, nurse, sales representative, student, and level 2 coach. I started CrossFit in November of 2011 and obtained my Level 1 certification in June of 2013. My background is in Nursing. I graduated in 2004 with my R.N. and have been working in the operating room since 1998. I currently am working as a sales representative for Zimmer Spine and assisting surgeons and staff in spinal surgery. I also am currently in school to obtain my Master’s. I decided to get involved in coaching because I felt it was another way of helping people. In my nursing career my love has always been making people smile helping them to get back to functioning at their highest level. To me that translates into CrossFit because we are helping individuals get healthy and feel good about themselves. It has been a great honor watching individuals lose weight and do things they never thought possible. I enjoy helping and teaching individuals and CrossFit has become another way for me to do that and gave me a community to be a part of.
Blessed Father. I’ve been very active throughout my life, participating in organized competitive sports in high school such as soccer, football, cross-country, track and field. After high school I joined the Indiana Air National Guard in 2001. Since then I’ve been deployed six times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I started CrossFit while deployed in Afghanistan in 2012. Reluctant to try at first, I soon realized that the variety and challenges that CrossFit offered suited me best. Later that year I received my CF-L1. I have passion to share my enthusiasm for a healthy and fulfilling life with as many people as possible.
Hi everyone! My name is Ben; I’m a Fort Wayne native and have been a member at Guerrilla Nation since 2012. I received my CrossFit Level 1 certificate in 2016 and enjoy the opportunity and privilege of working with all of our athletes across a broad fitness spectrum. I have no sports background, but what happens at Guerrilla Nation is truly inspirational and has been a life and body transformation – I’m proof that ANYONE can do this. I was very skeptical about joining back in 2012, but think it has been the best decision I have made for my overall fitness and well-being. In my day job, I am a Pharmacist with Parkview Home Infusion and have been there since 2011. I graduated with my doctorate from Purdue University in 2008 and love what I do. I take my patients’ health care and my coaching very seriously but otherwise prefer to be pretty laid back and just have fun. In my spare time I like long walks on the beach and dancing to techno music while my mom flips the lights on and off really fast.
What’s up! My name is Chelsea, I’ve lived in Fort Wayne all my life and I’ve been drinking the CrossFit juice since 2015. I received my Level 1 certification not 6 months into my CrossFit career and was hooked. Since then I’ve been through the CrossFit Gymnastics course, the Level 2 Certification and took the online scaling course for some extra knowledge. I grew up playing all kinds of sports, but competitive cheer-leading and gymnastics were the most constant in my life. I’ve been taking supplements and surrounding myself with fitness since I was about 10 years old, so a career in the health and fitness industry was bound to be my end result! I’m super committed to helping everyone become a better athlete in all aspects of life and you can most likely find me dancing like a freak to some Fergie outside of coaching and training. I’m either known as the Nazi coach or the pushover, but you’ll have to come to one of my classes and decide for yourself!
